This page describes, factually, what ClipIQ ("we," "us") does with your data. ClipIQ is operated from India. By using ClipIQ you agree to the practices described here; if you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Operator information

ClipIQ is a product operated by Suraj Kumar, an individual based in India — there is no registered company, LLP, GST number or CIN yet, and this page won't claim one it doesn't have. Until incorporation, Suraj Kumar is who you're dealing with under the ClipIQ name, reachable at the address below.

What we collect

  • Account info — handled by Clerk, our authentication provider: your email address and sign-in credentials. We never see or store your password. On our side we keep your Clerk user ID, your email and your plan.
  • Your content — the video files you upload, or videos we download from a YouTube link you submit, stored in Cloudflare R2, plus the transcript, moment scores, captions and generated clips, thumbnails and exports derived from them.
  • Payment info — payments are handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your full card number. We keep your Razorpay customer ID, your plan, your subscription status and renewal date, and a ledger of your credit purchases and spending.
  • Usage records — a record of each processing job (status, timing, which AI model was used, how much text it processed, and what that cost us), so we can run the service and fix problems.
  • A sign-up check on free accounts — when a free account is first set up we record the IP address and a random identifier your browser stores (below), and compare them with other accounts to spot one person opening many free accounts. If they match, only the free credit grants are withheld for the new account; you can still use ClipIQ. We use this for abuse prevention only, and keep it with your account record.
  • How you use your clips — when you play a clip in ClipIQ we record how long you watched it and whether you reached the end, and if you answer "How were these clips?" we keep your answer. We use this only to make ClipIQ pick better moments; it isn't shared or used for advertising, and it's deleted along with the clip or project.
  • Referrals — if you sign up with someone's referral code, we record that they referred you, and keep a record of the commission they earn from your plan payments (the payment amount and date, not your card details). If you refer people yourself and add a UPI ID, we keep it to pay your commission. People you refer can't see your UPI ID, and you can't see who they are — only how many signed up and paid.

Connecting YouTube

You can connect a YouTube channel to ClipIQ and, on the Creator and Pro plans, post clips to it, now or at a time you schedule. ClipIQ uses YouTube API Services to do this, and by connecting you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is covered by theGoogle Privacy Policy.

  • What we access — permission to upload videos to your channel, and to read your channel's ID and name so we can show which channel is connected. We don't read your other videos, comments, subscribers, analytics or anything else on your account.
  • What we keep — your channel's ID and name, and the access token Google gives us, stored encrypted. For each post: the clip, the title, description and visibility you chose, when it was scheduled, and the link YouTube returned.
  • How we use it — only to upload the clips you choose, when you choose, with the details you entered. We don't share it, sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
  • Disconnecting — disconnect on the Schedule page at any time: we revoke our access with Google and delete the token and the channel record, along with any posts still scheduled to it. You can also remove ClipIQ's access from your Google Account permissions. Deleting a clip deletes its scheduled posts too.

ClipIQ's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Connecting Instagram

You can connect an Instagram professional account (Creator or Business) to ClipIQ and, on the Creator and Pro plans, post clips to it as Reels, now or at a time you schedule. You sign in with Instagram on Instagram's own page; ClipIQ never sees your Instagram password. Meta's handling of your data is covered by theInstagram Privacy Policy.

  • What we access — permission to publish Reels to your account, and to read your account's ID, username and account type so we can show which account is connected. We don't read your other posts, messages, followers, insights or anything else on your account.
  • What we keep — your account's IDs and username, and the access token Instagram gives us, stored encrypted. The token lasts 60 days; while you stay connected we renew it before it runs out, so scheduled posts keep working. For each post: the clip, the caption you wrote, when it was scheduled, and the link Instagram returned.
  • How we use it — only to post the clips you choose, when you choose, with the caption you entered. To post, we give Instagram a temporary private link to that one clip, which stops working after two hours. We don't share your data, sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
  • Disconnecting — disconnect on the Calendar page at any time: we delete the token and the account record, along with any posts still scheduled to it. You can also remove ClipIQ in Instagram under Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites; Instagram then tells us, and we delete the same data automatically. To ask for that data to be deleted without disconnecting first, see Deleting your Instagram data.

Cookies and browser storage

Clerk sets its own cookies to keep you signed in; these are strictly necessary for the service to work and aren't something you can opt out of while staying signed in. ClipIQ itself stores up to four items in your browser's local storage: a random identifier used for the sign-up check above; only if you opened someone's referral link, their referral code, kept for up to 60 days so it can be applied to your account; whether you've closed the "Got a referral code?" prompt, so it stays closed; and when we last asked "How were these clips?", so we ask at most once a day. We don't run any analytics or advertising trackers on this site, so there's nothing here that needs a cookie-consent banner.

Our hosting providers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) to run and secure the service.

How your content is processed, and who sees it

  • Transcription — on the Free plan, this always runs on our own infrastructure with an open-source model, and your audio is never sent anywhere else. On paid plans, premium processing sends your audio to Groq's hosted transcription service first; if that fails, it is sent to OpenAI's instead, and if that fails too it is transcribed on our own infrastructure.
  • Finding and captioning moments sends transcript text — not your raw video, only the transcribed text — to a third-party AI model provider. Standard processing (the only option on the Free plan) uses Google Gemini and/or OpenRouter. Premium processing on paid plans uses OpenAI first and may fall back to those providers. Each provider handles that text under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay, and sign-in by Clerk; each has its own privacy policy for the data it collects directly from you.
  • Error reports — when something breaks, we send a technical report to Sentry, our error-tracking service, so we can fix it. It contains the error and where it happened (the page or route, without any query parameters), your browser or device type, and a random internal account ID. It does not contain your videos, audio, transcripts, anything you typed, your email address, or your sign-in details.
  • Server logs — our servers keep technical logs (which page or job was involved, timing, error messages, and internal IDs) and send them to a log-management service so we can troubleshoot. They do not contain your videos, transcripts, or anything you typed, and passwords, keys and email addresses are masked before a log line is written.
  • Files are stored with Cloudflare R2, and our application and database run with hosting providers who process data on our behalf. Those providers may be in countries other than yours — see "Cross-border transfers" below.

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Cross-border transfers

We're based in India, and Razorpay (our payment processor) is also an Indian company, so payment data is more likely to stay in-region than with the other providers listed here. Clerk, Groq, OpenAI, Google (Gemini), OpenRouter, Sentry and Cloudflare may still process or store data outside India, including in the United States. We rely on each provider's own security and compliance commitments for that processing; we haven't independently negotiated separate data- transfer agreements with them beyond their standard terms. If you're in the European Economic Area or UK and have questions about the safeguards that apply to your data leaving your region, contact us and we'll do our best to answer based on what each provider publishes about their own compliance.

How long we keep it

  • Source videos — the original file you provided is deleted 7 days after upload.
  • Clips, transcripts and scores — kept until you delete them (or the video they came from).
  • Account and billing records — kept while your account exists, and afterwards where we need them to meet legal or accounting obligations.
  • The sign-up abuse check (the IP address and browser identifier described above) — kept for as long as your account exists. We don't currently delete this on any shorter schedule: it only works as an abuse check by being compared against every other account's signal, including ones created long before it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict some processing, and (for users in India, under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) to nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to act. We honor these requests by hand today — email support@getclipiq.com and we'll respond as promptly as we reasonably can. We don't yet have a self-serve tool for this, or a support team beyond the person reading that inbox, so every request currently goes through a person, not an automated flow or a guaranteed turnaround time.

Children's privacy

ClipIQ is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account. If you're between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian review this policy and our Terms of Service with you before you sign up. We're being upfront that we don't currently verify age or collect parental consent at sign-up — there's no age gate in the product today. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete the account and associated data.

Deleting your data

Deleting a video from your dashboard removes its stored file, transcript, moments and clips. Deleting your account through Clerk does not automatically remove what we've stored, so if you want your data removed, or want a copy of it, email us and we'll help.

Grievance officer

Complaints or grievances about your data, or about content on ClipIQ, can be sent to support@getclipiq.com. We're a very small team today, so we can't promise a fixed response time, but we read and act on every report that comes in.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page as ClipIQ changes; the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
