Livestream clips
Turn your livestreams into short clips
A three-hour stream has great moments in it — a funny exchange with chat, a sharp take, a story — and they’re the best way to bring new people to your next stream. But nobody wants to scrub back through three hours to find them.
ClipIQ goes through the recording for you. It transcribes what you said, ranks the moments most likely to hold a viewer, and cuts them into vertical, captioned clips for Shorts, TikTok and Reels.
From stream recording to clips
- 1
Add the recording
Paste the YouTube link of a past stream, or upload the recording as a file (MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, M4V or AVI, up to 2 GB).
- 2
ClipIQ finds the highlights
It transcribes the stream and scores every candidate moment for its hook, pacing and payoff, with the reasoning behind each pick.
- 3
Post the best ones
Download 9:16 clips, reframed around your face cam and captioned, and post them between streams.
Which streams clip well
ClipIQ picks moments from what is said. Talk-heavy streams — just chatting, commentary, podcasts, Q&As, reacting with a lot of discussion — give it the most to choose from. A stretch of gameplay with little talking, or music, gives it little to work with, even if it looked great.
The vertical crop follows the most prominent face in the frame, which on most streams is your face cam. A small face cam in a corner of a full-screen game can be too small to track, in which case the clip uses a centered crop.
Using a YouTube link
- The stream has to be over. ClipIQ works from finished recordings, not streams that are live or scheduled.
- Use the watch link. Paste the video’s youtube.com/watch?v=… or youtu.be/… address. A youtube.com/live/… address isn’t recognised, but the same video has a watch link.
- YouTube only. Twitch and other platforms can’t be pasted as links — download the VOD and upload the file instead.
- Very long streams. Fetching a video from YouTube stops after 30 minutes, so a very long stream can fail to download. Uploading the recording, or a shorter section of it, avoids that.
What a long stream costs
One credit is one minute of video on the standard engine, with clips included — so a three-hour stream uses 180 credits. Fair use applies on every plan: up to 10 hours of video in any 24 hours.
The free plan gives you 3 videos a day and 5 clips per video, with 500 credits (500 minutes of video) to start and 30 more every week — no credit card.
Creator (₹249/week) and Pro (₹599/week) remove the watermark, allow unlimited videos and up to 15 or 25 clips per video, and add animated captions.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a Twitch VOD link?
No — links work for YouTube only. Download the Twitch VOD and upload it as a file (up to 2 GB).
Can I clip a stream while it’s still live?
No. ClipIQ works from finished recordings. Clip the stream once it has ended.
My stream recording is bigger than 2 GB. What can I do?
Upload a shorter section of it, or export it at a lower resolution or bitrate before uploading. If the stream is on YouTube, pasting its link avoids the upload limit, though very long videos can take too long to fetch.
Will the clips show my face cam?
The vertical crop follows the most prominent face in the frame, usually your face cam. If the face cam is very small, the clip uses a centered crop instead.
