Interview clips
Turn interviews into short clips
An interview is a string of questions and answers — and a few of those answers are worth far more than the rest: the surprising opinion, the story, the line people will quote. Finding and cutting them by hand takes longer than the interview did.
ClipIQ reads the whole interview, ranks the moments most likely to hold attention, and cuts them into captioned vertical clips that make sense without the rest of the conversation.

Clips that stand on their own
A clip from an interview only works if a stranger can follow it. ClipIQ cuts clips of 20 seconds to about two minutes that end on a finished sentence, and scores each one on whether it pays off — so you get complete answers, not fragments.
How interviews are framed
The vertical crop follows the most prominent face in the shot. Interviews filmed with a separate camera angle for each person frame best, because each angle has one clear subject.
In a single wide shot with two people side by side, the crop follows the most prominent face — which isn’t always the person talking at that moment. If your interview is filmed that way, review the clips before posting, or use the 16:9 export to keep both people in frame.
Good interviews to clip
- Podcast and YouTube interviews, where the guest’s best answers make natural short clips.
- Expert and founder interviews, where one clear explanation can travel much further than the full video.
- Press and event interviews, to share the key quotes quickly.

Frequently asked questions
Does ClipIQ keep both people in frame?
Vertical clips follow the most prominent face in the shot, so in a wide two-person shot one person may be cropped out. Separate camera angles per person frame best; the 16:9 export keeps a wide shot intact.
Can I clip an interview from YouTube?
Yes, paste a public YouTube link — as long as you have the right to reuse the video.
How many clips will I get?
Up to 5 per video on the free plan, 15 on Creator and 25 on Pro. ClipIQ keeps only moments that stand on their own, so you may get fewer.
Are the clips captioned?
Yes, every clip has captions burned in, and you can download the SRT file. Paid plans add animated word-by-word styles.
